ANGARAI Awarded Contract to Support the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange

ANGARAI is one of several companies being awarded Program Management Office (PMO) support to the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange. In March 2010, President Obama signed new health reform into law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). It required states to establish and operate a health insurance exchange, or be a part of the federal government's exchange. The State of Maryland created its own health benefit exchange. The legislation, adopted April 12, 2011, provided for the development of a program where Maryland's individuals and small businesses could compare insurance rates, benefits and locate the best insurance products for its individual needs. In addition, the State of Maryland applied for and received an Early Innovator federal grant to implement the ACA. The Program Management Office (PMO) is created to provide the Exchange with support in areas of technology, infrastructure, professional services and monitoring within numerous Medicaid and social services programs. ANGARAI will be part of this team to support the success of Maryland as a leader in implementing healthcare reform.
